Parents should plan to bring anything needed for the “party.”

What to Expect
Plan Your Piece (~10-15 minutes)

Pottery is wrapped and labeled for the host to pick up and hand out!

Special Notes
All products used at The Pottery Stop are non-toxic and will wash out in the laundry.
There is a fridge or freezer in the party room.
A staff member will be assigned to assist your party, however they may not be in the area
at all times. Kids must be supervised by at least one host.
Please no piñatas, silly string, confetti or dangerous, messy activities in the party area!
Parking at Ellicott City: On your invitations, please advise parents that the parking lot can
be crowded during party drop-off and pick-up, especially after 1 on Saturdays. Additional
parking is available after Noon on Saturday and all day Sundays at SunTrust Bank.
Parking at Fulton: Additional parking available at the Highs behind our building.
*The party room is pre-stocked with items to fit the price range of your party. There are
at least five choices that the kids will love! Due to availability from our suppliers, choices
are subject to change weekly, and pre-selection of shapes is not permitted.
** The party room will comfortably hold up to 24 painters and 2 additional adult hosts.
We recommend that you inform parents on your invitations that they do not need to stay in the room with the kids.
They are welcome to sit in the studio if seats are not needed for painters. They would ONLY be asked to vacate a table if there were people waiting to paint pottery.
Do keep in mind though, that if you have less than 24 painters, you will have extra room for extra guests or parents.

Booking Policies
Minimum : $180 for up to 10 kids. Parties of less than 10 kids will still be charged $180.
Deposit : $50 (cash or credit only)
Deposits may be refunded or transferred with a minimum of two weeks notice of
cancellation or date change, and when the studio is not open due to inclement weather.
Guests: We ask that you tell us the number of painters INVITED to attend. The party area will be set up to seat the
number of guests your party confirmation reflects with 2 chairs available for non-painting adults. We request that you give
us a final head count 24 hours or more before your event.
Duration: Extra time is automatically billed when parties run over scheduled times. In order to avoid being billed for extra
time, the area must be vacated no later than 10 minutes after your scheduled end-time. PLEASE NOTE: if you book a Mini Monet
event that runs over time, you WILL BE BILLED for the “Practically Picasso” party, which is $200 for the first 10 painters, and
$18 per additional painter. If the party runs over 2 hours, an additional $10 per 15 minutes will be assessed. Parties may not
run longer than 30 minutes past scheduled end time unless arrangements are made with the management.
Room Policies
Children MUST remain in the party area at all times. This is for the SAFETY of the children!
Guests’ parents or family members are welcome to paint in the studio during the party. However, we cannot reserve
tables in advance. If not painting, they may be asked to move if there are painters waiting.
Unfinished pieces must be taken home. Party attendees may return to finish them at no additional charge.
Dangerous, destructive behaviors and excessive noise will not be tolerated. If guests are unable to refrain from behaviors that put others in danger or are disruptive to our other customers, your party may be asked to leave. Deposits are not refundable or transferable in these instances.
Walk-in parties may use the party area (if available) at the discretion of an employee for a room fee of $30, in addition on all other party minimums.
We are not responsible for food left in the refrigerator or freezer. Thanks!

Minimum : Groups of 10 or less: $180 minimum. Additional guests raise minimum $10 per person. Minimum refers to the total
revenue generated by the party, before tax.
Guests choose to paint any item in the studio, therefore party totals will vary. As party size increases, the per person minimum decreases, making it very unlikely that a party would not meet the minimum requirements.
A TPS employee will inform the host of the party total once all guests have chosen a piece. If the party has not met the
minimum, a room fee will be assessed (see below). Additional time and coffee drinks can contribute to the minimum!
Room Fee: A room fee is ONLY added to the bill when a party does not meet minimum requirements described above. This fee
is usually incurred when there are a lot of non-painting guests, or if all guests choose a single, small item to paint. The room
fee is equivalent to the difference between the actual party revenue and the minimum requirement will be assessed.

*Adult parties are 2 hours, however we recommend booking a 2 .5 to 3 hour party if you will be having food and beverages to ensure that everyone has enough to paint and relax.
You can purchase extra time at the rate of $20 per half hour. This can be charged to the host or split between all guests. Please be advised that we recommend reserving this extra time in advance, as if there is another party after yours, extra time may not be available tha day.

Off Site Events
Bring the party to the office! Great for company events too!
Each painter will choose a mug from our selection and write a list of what they'd like the mug to look like. They will then swap mugs and lists with a team member who will paint their mug based on their instructions!
This fun game will encourage good communication and and help the team see how differently other members think!
(It's always fun to see who forgets to note what colors they want!)

(Two hour event includes pottery, firing, glazing, coffee and tea, as well as a muffin platter for the group)

Each painter will receive a cereal/soup bowl to paint. We'll go through the basics of painting and have everyone gather their supplies and colors and start painting!
After 15 minutes of painting, everyone will switch seats and begin painting another team member's bowl! We'll continue to swap seats every 15 minutes until the end of the party.
This swap will promote teamwork among the group and is a great way to teach everyone to trust each other!
$20 per person
Each painter will choose either a rimmed or coupe plate. We'll put everyone's name in a hat and have each member draw a name. They'll then paint a plate to represent whoever they picked!
At the end, each painter will present the plate to the team member they drew from the hat and tell the group why their plate represents them!
This is a fun and creative way to build relationships and encourage camraderie among the group!
Perfect for the group that just wants to hang out and have fun! Great for holiday parties and get togethers or just for fun!
